We are with Kashmir
Known to many as a paradise on Earth, Kashmir’s reality is that of a region grappling with the tension of being the root cause of three wars between India and Pakistan. Inhabited by people caught in the crossfire of geopolitics, Kashmir remains heavily militarized, its locals living with the uncertainty and fear of conflict.
Our Pledge: We Stand with Kashmir
The United Nations once recognized Kashmir’s unique status, which provided it with some autonomy from India’s direct rule. But things took a sharp turn in August 2019. The Indian government revoked this special status, bringing the region under its direct rule. The implications? A palpable rise in tensions between the local Kashmiris, the Indian military, and Pakistan.
Join hands with Unite 4 Humanity in our Kashmir Emergency Appeal, as we reach out to affected Kashmiris on both sides of the border.
KASHMIR WINTER APPEAL
As snow blankets Azad and Jammu Kashmir, families already struggling after floods now face freezing nights without warmth, food, or shelter. Roads are blocked, water freezes, and isolation deepens with every passing day.
In the harsh mountain cold, temperatures often fall below –5°C. Thousands of children and widows endure winter without proper clothing or heating. Many still live in makeshift shelters swept away by floods, where even a single blanket can mean survival.
Through the Kashmir Winter Appeal, Unite 4 Humanity delivers winter packs, food parcels, and heating support to vulnerable families across both Azad and Jammu Kashmir — bringing hope, warmth, and dignity where it’s needed most.
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve his distress on the Day of Judgement.” — Sahih Muslim
Your kindness can be the warmth that saves lives this winter.

Your Compassionate Contributions in Action
Jammu Kashmir
Under India’s governance, Jammu Kashmir has faced its share of challenges. From natural disasters to political upheavals, including the 2019 revocation of its special status, the region has seen a lot. The presence of a significant military force in the area further complicates the situation, especially in Muslim-majority regions.
Azad Kashmir
Governed by Pakistan, Azad Kashmir has also had its struggles. Natural disasters have wreaked havoc here, deepening poverty levels and crippling infrastructure. Still, the spirit of its people remains unbroken. Despite adversity, they are grateful for every bit of support, especially from well-wishers like you from the UK.

Stories from Kashmir
Support the ‘Half-Widows’ Crisis in Jammu Kashmir
The ongoing conflict in Jammu and Kashmir has given rise to “half-widows”: women whose husbands are missing under uncertain circumstances. These women, potentially in the thousands, grapple with complex economic, legal, and psychological challenges, often facing hurdles in inheritance, pension access, and societal support. This pressing issue, tracing back to the late 1980s, stands in contrast to India’s commitment to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance (ICPPED). Advocates, including U4H, call on the international community for constructive engagement and dialogue to address these concerns.
For more information about the half-widows please visit this article in Guardian Newspaper.

BUILD A MASJID IN KASHMIR
Kashmir, being a predominantly Muslim region, houses thousands of mosques. You might ponder, “Why should I donate to a Masjid fund for Kashmir?”
Many local communities, particularly near the LOC area bordering India, are grappling with inadequate mosque facilities. The situation is exacerbated by damage to many mosques due to shelling by the Indian Army. Furthermore, numerous mosques lack proper wudu (ablution) areas and washroom facilities. U4H is dedicated to funding the renovation of mosques in Kashmir and establishing or refurbishing wudu areas for those without suitable provisions. Your generous donation will contribute to the construction and renovation of mosques in this crucial region.
Consider this: every brick you help lay down, every prayer area you help establish, not only serves a community’s spiritual needs but stands as a testament to your faith and compassion. Your support can make a world of difference. Let’s rebuild and restore Kashmir’s spiritual landmarks together.
