By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Unite 4 Humanity - 100% Donation Policy Charity to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Unite 4 Humanity - 100% Donation Policy Charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Unite 4 Humanity - 100% Donation Policy Charity receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Breaking of an oath (Kafaarat Yameen)

An oath is only permissible if it has been taken with Allah’s name. Taking an oath with other than Allah is not permissible.

“Allah will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will punish you for your deliberate oaths; for its expiation (a deliberate oath) feed ten Masaakeen (poor persons), on a scale of the average of that with which you feed your own families, or clothe them or manumit a slave. But whosoever cannot afford (that), then he should fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths when you have sworn. And protect your oaths (i.e. do not swear much). Thus Allah makes clear to you His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) that you may be grateful.” [al-Maa’idah 5:89]

If someone has taken an oath and knows that it is not true then he/she will have to do one of the following three:

  • Feeding 10 poor and needy with the same food he/she feeds their own family
  • Clothing 10 poor and needy people
  • Freeing a believing slave

We ask Allah to save us from these situations and give us the ability (tawfeeq) to fulfil His commands.

Kaffarah for Breaking an Oath FAQ

Your Most Common Questions Answered

What is Kaffarah for breaking an oath?

Kaffarah is a form of compensation when a person knowingly breaks an oath made in the name of Allah. The Qur’ān (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:89) states that the expiation is to feed 10 needy people, clothe them, or fast for three days if one cannot afford the first two options.

How much does it cost to pay Kaffarah through U4H?

The standard Kaffarah amount is £20, which provides 1 meal to 10 needy people. This fulfils the requirement of feeding 10 individuals as per the ruling we follow.

What kind of meals do you provide for Kaffarah?

We provide hearty, cooked meals such as:

  • Rice with chicken in places like Gaza, Yemen, and Syria

  • Roti with curry and a drink, or rice & chicken curry or roast in places like Pakistan and the Rohingya refugee camps
All meals are served with a drink, and in colder regions, tea may also be included.

How do you ensure each person receives their share?

We mostly arrange group meals, where food is distributed in community settings. While one Kaffarah is intended for 10 individuals, in reality, many more people often benefit due to the barakah in eating together.

Can I customise my Kaffarah meals?

Yes. If you’d prefer to provide meals with extra meat or additional sides, you can make a custom payment. For example:

  • £3 per person provides a meal with meat, rice/bread, and a drink

  • £30 per Kaffarah (10 people) for enhanced meals
Let us know your preference after making your donation.

Kaffarah meals are all customisable. The prices shown on the website are based on standard meals, so it is affordable for everyone.

Do recipients receive the equivalent of 1.5kg of food per person?

According to the opinion we follow, feeding 10 people one meal each fulfils the Kaffarah condition. However, if you follow a view that requires 1.5kg per person, we can arrange for:

  • £90 for 30 people in the form of flour distribution

  • £120 for 30 people with rice distribution

Contact us for any custom arrangements.

Is my Kaffarah money used only for Kaffarah?

Yes. All Kaffarah donations are strictly allocated and not merged with Sadaqah or general funds. We honour the trust you place in us by distributing your Kaffarah as per the Islamic rulings.

How quickly will my Kaffarah be distributed?

Kaffarah meals are generally distributed the month after donation, except in Ramadan and Qurbani season, where distributions are faster due to urgent need.

Why is U4H’s Kaffarah amount more affordable than other charities?

We are a volunteer-run charity with a 100% donation policy. No admin fees are taken from Kaffarah donations. This allows us to keep prices low while ensuring meals are fulfilling and dignified.

Can I feed multiple Kaffarahs at once?

Yes, you can. For example, 3 broken oaths = 30 people = £60. You may increase the amount to customise the food or meal quality.

Breaking of your Ramadan Fast by having an intercourse with your wife

Allah has made it permissible for men and women to have intercourse with their husbands and wives. However, the same intercourse becomes impermissible during the days of Ramadan. If one takes part in intercourse with their husband/wife during the day, then the punishment is very severe.

They should repent sincerely and make a promise never to repeat this act again.

They will have to do one of the following

  • Free a slave
  • Fast for two consecutive months
  • Must feed sixty poor people (it costs £2 to feed one person, therefore, to feed 06 people for one day will cost £120)

It doesn’t matter whether the ejaculation happened during intercourse, as long as their private parts met then the Kaffarah is upon both.
