Morocco Charity Appeal
Morocco is a highly popular tourist destination, and many of us visit its sandy beaches and stay in luxurious hotels and resorts. We often get the impression that the country is very wealthy. However, what many people may not know is that if you venture beyond the resorts and hotels to the outskirts of towns and villages, you will encounter poverty everywhere. Unite 4 Humanity’s Morocco Charity Appeal aims to assist these families periodically, and may Allah forbid if Morocco ever faces a natural disaster.
Morocco Earthquake Appeal
On Friday, September 8th, a major 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Marrakesh, Morocco. As of now, over 1,000 lives have been lost, and thousands are injured. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue workers search for survivors beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.
TeamU4H has been on the ground in Morocco since 2014, assisting hundreds of widows and orphans living in poverty every year. Right now, thousands of families in Morocco face a daunting challenge. They need support. The powerful earthquake has claimed many lives, destroyed numerous homes, and disrupted countless businesses. However, with our generosity, we can bring normalcy back to the lives of these people—one family at a time. Donate your Sadaqah and Zakat to the Morocco Earthquake Appeal and provide lifesaving aid to the victims of poverty and natural disasters.
How we started our charity work in Morocco
Some of our team members are regular travellers to Morocco for holidays. During one of their visits, they discovered an underlying problem in areas outside of tourist spots: children without families living on the streets, homelessness among adults, and extreme poverty among the older generation.
Since then, whenever any of our team members travel to Morocco for their holidays, they take time to visit these towns and villages and provide them with food and financial aid to make their lives a bit easier.
In my opinion, this is how we should all spend our holidays. Firstly, we should try to visit Muslim countries, enjoy our time there, and at the same time, take some time to help the poor and destitute people of that country. Morocco is one of my favourite destinations. I love going there, but what I love the most is seeing smiles on the faces of children who don’t get to have the food we enjoy on a daily basis. Our little donation toward Morocco Charity Appeal will make a huge difference in their lives.

This is why as Muslims it is important that we keep an eye out for the needy around the world. It’s good to be connected to your motherland or help our brothers and sisters in places like Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and Bangladesh (Rohingya Muslims) but at the same time, we should not forget millions of poor and needy Muslims in other parts of the world. You don’t need a charitable organisation to help these people. You can help them yourselves, just remember to connect to the local Muslim population when visiting these communities.

Life of widows and orphans in Morocco
The life of widows and orphans in Morocco is often difficult. They are often socially excluded and marginalised, and they may face economic hardship.
Widows in Morocco are traditionally seen as dependents and are often not allowed to inherit property or land. They may also face discrimination in the workplace. As a result, many widows are forced to live in poverty.
Orphans in Morocco also face many challenges. They may be raised by relatives who are not able to provide for them, or they may end up in orphanages. They may also face discrimination and abuse.
