Qurbani in Bangladesh (Rohingya)
Qurbani in Bangladesh
Eid al-Adha is a joyous occasion for Muslims all over the world. There is always an extra buzz amongst the children in Muslim countries as they get to see and look after lambs, sheep, cows and in some cases camels.
What is Qurbani (Udhiya)?
Udhiya’ in Arabic or Qurbani in Urdu is an act of worship performed on the 10th Dhul Hijjah by following the Sunnah of Ibrahim alayhis’salam.
In other words, sacrificing an animal for the sake of Allah and to gain his pleasure is called Qurbani or Udhiya.
